Bird Rock

This is my first walk in Wales. It's quite short, and not much "up", but the views from the top are great, and you know you've arrived in the mountains.

I love to unpack quickly, and go straight to Bird Rock, and walk to the top before I do anything else.

Park on the red circle below, and either load the GPX file into your GPS, or follow your nose!

On this map, follow the track south until you see the footpath (just a grass path) going up to your right (where it says Spr on the map), and follow your nose to the top.

It's 1.6 miles round trip, with a total climb of about 600ft.

On our trip in October 2009 we didn't do this until Thursday afternoon, and I wished I'd done it earlier ... it sort of "anchors" me in this part of Wales.

See the documentation that came with your GPS for information on how to download the route to your GPS.
